How Many Facebook Fans Do You Have?
Does your gym have a Facebook page? Do you link from your website to your Facebook site? Do you regularly use your Facebook page to let your 'fans' know about your events or services, or things going on at your athletic club? Check out this article:

A measurment firm called Syncapse released some interesting statistics about the value of using Facebook. Now they put a value of $136.38 on the average Facebook fan. That's the average. For a company like Coca Cola the value was actually over $300. Also I should note it was a pretty small sample size (1,000 people) and these are all people who are all fans of the products or services already. But it's interesting none the less. Why?
Fans on facebook spent more money on the products they followed. $71.84 extra, compared to people who weren't Facebook fans. They were 28% more likely to continue using what they were a fan of. They were 41% more likely to recommend the product to a friend, if they were a Facebook fan.
What does this mean to you if you own an Athletic or Fitness club? Well it means that the more ways you can hook people into your club the better. They're more likely to find out about any additional classes or events you have and come in and spend more money at your club. They're more likely to keep being a member of your club. They're more likely to recommend your club to their friends, which means more memberships.
If you're not on Facebook and not trying to get your members to become your fans, then you're missing out. It's that simple.
